Editorial Policy and Fact-Checking

toools4us.com publishes free calculators and guides about U.S. pay, taxes, retirement and loans. This page explains how we keep that information accurate.

Our sources

Rates, limits and deadlines come from official sources: the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Social Security Administration (SSA), the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and similar government publications. Each guide lists its main sources at the bottom so you can check them yourself.

How we check numbers

Every example in a guide is calculated from the published rates for the year shown, and we recompute worked examples before publishing. Calculators use the same rules as the guides. We use software tools, including AI assistance, for drafting; every figure and logic is verified against official sources before publishing.

Keeping content current

Tax rules change every year. Guides show a “Last reviewed” date, and we revisit them when rates, thresholds or deadlines change.

Corrections

If you find an error, tell us through the Contact page. We verify the report against the official source and update the page accordingly. Significant changes update the “Last reviewed” date.

Independence

Our calculators and guides are written to inform readers. Advertising or sponsorship never changes calculator results or what a guide recommends.

What we are not

We are not a tax firm, and nothing here is tax, legal or financial advice. Results are estimates; your actual tax depends on your full situation. See our Disclaimer and consult a licensed professional for personal decisions.
